Consider the Mountain Path

High on a mountain trail, a brown rabbit pauses in the dry grass beside purple wildflowers, with jagged peaks and a clear blue sky behind it. It looks like the right place to stop and take stock. This afternoon reading is brief: one line of Scripture inviting a pause in the middle of the day to think about where we are headed before moving on.

A simple midday reminder to stop, reflect, and choose your next step wisely. 🐰🌿
“Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.”
— Haggai 1:7

Haggai preached to people who had returned from exile and started rebuilding the temple, then stopped. They built comfortable homes for themselves while God’s house lay in ruins, and their harvests kept falling short. Twice the prophet says, consider your ways. It was a call to look honestly at their priorities and get back to the work God had given them.

A trail invites the same kind of check. Are we still on the path we meant to take, or did we drift? Midday is a good time to ask, while there is still time to change direction. Considering our ways is not about guilt. It is a chance to line our choices up again with what matters most.
