At the Root of Still Waters

Deep in the woods, a brown rabbit rests on a thick, moss-covered root that curls above a still pool. Ferns lean in, and the water holds a mirror of the light coming through the trees. The prayer for this morning is about setting down yesterday’s worries, greeting the new day with hope, and remembering that God stays close when the way feels uncertain.

A little woodland prayer to leave yesterday’s worries behind and greet today with hope. 🐰🌿🙏 #churchbunnies #bunnylove #rabbitsoftiktok #bunniesoftiktok #cutebunnies

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:3 (KJV)

Psalm 1 pictures the person who delights in God’s word as a tree planted beside streams of water. The tree did not plant itself there; it was set in a good place, and its roots draw from a source it did not create. Because of that, it bears fruit in its season and its leaves stay green when dry weather comes.

Yesterday’s worries have a way of following us into the morning. Roots offer a better picture than resolutions. When we sink our lives into God’s presence, day after day, we are fed from deeper water than our own strength. The rabbit on the old root is not working at being steady. It is simply resting on something that holds.
