A brown-and-white rabbit sits on the sidewalk in front of an old roadside motel as the sun sets the sky aglow behind it. The neon sign and the open road set the scene for this morning’s prayer, which begins with a simple reminder: whatever road you are on today, God is already there. The prayer thanks Him for walking with us and asks for strength when we are tired, peace when we are uncertain, and wisdom for every step ahead.
Roads are a good picture of the life of faith. Some stretches are smooth and some are long and dusty, and we rarely see far ahead. Yet the prayer does not ask to know the whole route. It asks to stay close to God and to trust where He leads.
Maybe you are traveling today, or maybe the road is the one inside your heart. Either way, you are not driving it alone. The God who goes before you is also the One who walks beside you.
