There is a special pleasure in finding flowers where no display has been arranged for us. Among the tall grass and pink roses, the brown rabbit seems entirely at ease, part of a beauty that has continued quietly out of view. His glance back feels like a brief invitation to notice it too.
“The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.”
Isaiah 35:1 (KJV)
Isaiah 35 presents a vision of restoration in which dry land blossoms and those who are weak or fearful receive encouragement. The chapter looks toward healing, return, and joy. Its flowering wilderness gives visible form to hope where desolation had seemed to define the landscape.
The hidden garden provides a gentle echo of that image. We may discover that something worthwhile has been growing beyond our attention: a recovering friendship, a skill developed with patience, or renewed confidence after a difficult period.
Such growth deserves recognition even when it arrives quietly. We can encourage it through continued care, without demanding that every change become immediately visible. May we remain attentive to signs of renewal in ourselves and others, and offer the patience that helps a hopeful beginning take root.
