“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:”
Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV)
Moses’ final blessing over Israel contains this beautiful promise: the eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Underneath. When everything else gives way, His arms are still there, lower than our lowest point. That image has comforted people facing loss, failure, and fear for thousands of years. You cannot fall farther than His reach. The mountains outside the window are ancient and immovable, but God is older still and more steadfast. Rest in that today. Whatever is shaking around you, the arms underneath will not fail.
