When the Clover Says Amen

A soft grey lop lies curled in a bed of clover and tiny white blossoms, eyes closed, ears draped over the leaves while sunlight spills across the garden. It looks like the morning arrived before the bunny was quite ready for it. The prayer is short and gentle: thanks for a new day, peace in our hearts, guidance for our steps, and the will to be kind.

A sleepy bunny, a new morning, and a little prayer for peace and kindness. 🐰☀️🙏 #churchbunnies #bunnylove #rabbitsoftiktok #cutebunnies #morningprayer

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
Colossians 3:15 (KJV)

Paul tells the Colossians to let the peace of God rule in their hearts. The word he uses calls to mind an umpire who settles disputes and keeps the game in order. When tempers rise or decisions pull us in different directions, Christ’s peace is meant to have the final say. He adds that believers are called into this peace together, as one body.

Peace and gratitude belong together. A thankful heart has less room for grumbling, and a peaceful one finds it easier to be kind. Mornings do not always start bright and eager. Sometimes we wake slowly, like this sleepy lop in the clover. Even then, a simple thank you can set the tone for everything that follows.
