Malachi’s promise is bright and warm: for those who honor God’s name, the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. Many Christians have heard in this verse a promise of Christ Himself, rising like dawn over a weary world. Morning light has a restoring quality. It burns off fog, warms cold ground, and coaxes fruit toward ripeness. Healing often comes the same way, slowly and steadily, like sunlight returning each day. If you are waiting for healing of body, heart, or spirit, keep your face turned toward the light. It is rising.
