“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”
Psalm 100:2 (KJV)
Serve the LORD with gladness. Not with grudging duty or anxious effort, but with joy. Psalm 100 is a song of thanksgiving, and it imagines worship as something glad and musical, people coming into God’s presence singing. Service can grow heavy when we forget whom we serve. Remembering His goodness changes the tone. Even ordinary work can become worship when done gladly. The old gramophone in this sunlit room hints at a song about to begin. Let today’s tasks carry a tune of gratitude. Gladness is a fitting response to a good God.
