“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.”
Song of Solomon 8:7 (KJV)
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it. The Song of Solomon describes love as stronger than the forces that threaten it. Many have also heard in these lines an echo of God’s love, which cannot be extinguished by our failures, our doubts, or the floods of life. The moon over the water stands as a quiet witness to something constant, shining even as the waves move. Whatever floods you are facing, love endures. It is stronger than the waters, and it will not be drowned.
