“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:”
John 14:27 (KJV)
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples on the night before His crucifixion. He knew what was coming, and He knew they would be frightened. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. Not the fragile peace the world offers, which depends on circumstances, but His own peace. It is a gift He gives, not a feeling we have to manufacture. The moon keeps its promise night after night, faithfully reflecting the sun. Christ’s peace is more faithful still. Let not your heart be troubled tonight.
