“I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”
Psalm 3:5 (KJV)
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. David wrote this psalm while fleeing from his own son. It was one of the worst seasons of his life. Yet he slept, and he woke, and he knew it was because God had held him through the night. Waking up is a gift we rarely think about. Each morning is evidence of God’s sustaining care. As the dew catches the first light, take a moment to thank Him. You made it through the night. He sustained you.
