“For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.”
2 Samuel 22:29 (KJV)
David sang this song after God had delivered him from all his enemies. Thou art my lamp, O LORD, and the LORD will lighten my darkness. God Himself is the lamp. Not just the one who provides light, but the light itself. A small lantern on garden steps does not chase away all the night, yet it keeps faithful watch, making the way visible for anyone who comes. God is like that in dark seasons. Quietly present, steadily burning, lighting the next step. You are not walking in the dark alone.
