“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
Psalm 121:8 (KJV)
Every day is made of comings and goings: leaving for work, driving home in the dark, stepping out into a conversation we dread, returning to a quiet house. Psalm 121 gathers all of those small departures and arrivals into one promise. The LORD keeps watch over every doorway we pass through, not just today but from this time forth. A lantern left burning on the porch says someone is expecting you. That is the picture here. Wherever you are headed tonight, and whatever you are walking back from, you are not traveling unnoticed. There is a light at the door, and Someone is watching the road.
