Cathedral of Color

An ordinary patch of sunlight can become an event when we stop long enough to notice it. As a hanging crystal scatters color across the floor and the black rabbit’s fur, his stillness lets the room’s small wonder take center stage. For a moment, light itself seems worth keeping company with.

“Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:”
Ecclesiastes 11:7 (KJV)

Ecclesiastes speaks honestly about life’s uncertainty and brevity. Within that honesty, this verse recognizes the simple pleasure of being alive to see another day. The surrounding passage encourages enjoyment while also remembering that life includes darkness and that our days are limited.

That awareness can deepen our appreciation of the present. A beautiful moment does not have to solve a problem to matter. Color on a floor, flowers beside a window, or warmth on our hands can offer a pleasure that is small but complete in itself.

The rabbit sitting in the rainbow gives us a gentle reason to pause. We may have responsibilities waiting, yet there is still room to notice what makes this particular day beautiful. May we receive its light with gratitude while it is here.
