“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Weeping may endure for a night. The psalm does not rush past sorrow or pretend it is not real. Some nights are long. Yet the second half of the verse is just as true: joy comes in the morning. It may not arrive on our timetable, and it may not look like what we expected, but it comes. Water in Scripture often marks new beginnings, washing and renewal and a fresh start. If you are in the night right now, hold on. The morning is already on its way, and it is bringing joy with it.
