“He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.”
Psalm 72:6 (KJV)
Psalm 72 describes a king whose reign is like rain upon mown grass, showers that water the earth. After the cutting comes the refreshing. Many have read this as a picture of the Messiah, whose presence brings renewal to weary places. Freshly mown grass can look harsh and bare, but rain brings it back to life. If you feel cut down or worn thin, this verse is for you. God’s care falls gently, steadily, like rain soaking into the ground. New growth is coming. Let His presence water you today.
