“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”
Psalm 92:12 (KJV)
The palm and the cedar were two of the strongest images available to the psalmist. Palms flourish in difficult, dry places, and cedars stand tall for centuries. Both are pictures of a righteous life: resilient, fruitful, enduring. The psalm goes on to say such people still bear fruit in old age. Growth with God is not a quick burst but a long, steady rising. Whatever your circumstances, it is possible to flourish where you are planted. Roots planted in His presence draw what they need, even in dry seasons, and keep reaching for the light.
